Integrate your Google Workspace Account with MDR

You can integrate your Google Workspace account with MDR so any threats and behavioral anomalies are detected. Once integrated, our SOC team analyzes data logs from your Google Workspace account for malware activity and other anomalies.

You have to first configure your Google Cloud service account and MDR so as to collect data.

Configuration Steps

  • Step 1 - Create a Cloud Project
  • Step 2 - Create a Service Account
  • Step 3 - Create and Download a JSON Key
  • Step 4 - Configure MDR with Google Workspace credentials (Client ID, Client Email, Project ID, Client X509 Cert URL, Private Key ID, Private Key)

Step 1 - Create a Cloud Project

  • Sign in to Google Cloud Console (https://console.cloud.google.com).
  • Create a new project for the integration.

Step 2 - Create a Service Account

  • Navigate to IAM & Admin → Service Accounts.
  • Click Create Service Account.
  • Provide a name and description for the service account.
  • Click Create and finish setup.

Step 3 - Create and Download a JSON Key

  • Open the newly created service account → Keys.
  • Click Add Key → Create New Key → JSON.
  • Download the JSON key file.
    • This file contains the Client Email and Private Key, which will be used for authentication in the integration.
    • Store it securely, as it provides full access to the service account.

Step 4 - Configure MDR with Google Workspace Credentials

  • Log into your Xcitium account and open MDR.
  • Click 'Managed Security' in the top navigation, then select the 'Integrations' tab.
  • Scroll down to 'Integrate your Google Workspace account' and fill in the following fields from your downloaded JSON key file:
    • Client ID
    • Client Email
    • Project ID
    • Client X509 Cert URL
    • Private Key ID
    • Private Key
  • Click 'Register Your Account'.

That's it, your Google Workspace account is integrated with MDR. Contact your Xcitium account manager for support if you have any trouble integrating your cloud account with MDR.
